Tabor Neighbors! As summer winds down, I want to express to everyone on behalf of Tabor’s Board and staff our heartfelt thanks for all your support of Tabor 100.

We tend to not thank you enough. Our organization exists because of you and not the other way around. Many of you have seen fit to use our Economic Development Center as the “hub” for your business. Others have taken advantage of the technical assistance we offer and some of you have engaged with our committees to make sure the voices of the Black and minority business community are heard. We are extremely appreciative and welcome your involvement.

We also want to hear from you when things are going well and when they are not. Your voice matters and there have been many changes we’ve made because of your suggestions. Keep them coming and we will do the best we can to incorporate what you need in our efforts “rise by lifting others.”

Tabor’s September 7 Gala will be very special. It is our one time of the year to look back on what we’ve accomplished, but more importantly we want to lay out a plan for the future. Amid the celebration, dessert dash, scholarship awards and speechifying, we are anxious to pave the path forward for Tabor and Black and minority-owned businesses in the state. Think about how we can offer more and be an even greater asset to you, your business or institution in the future.

I cannot emphasize more the importance of voting this Presidential election year. We also have one of our US Senators, a Governor, Attorney General, Commissioner of Public Lands and members of the US Congress, to weigh in on. In addition, there will be a spate of initiatives on the ballot. I encourage each of you to become informed about the candidates and issues, then vote for whoever or whatever you believe will make your life better.
