A&K Environmental Consulting and Staffing LLC was given the opportunity to provide OSHA 30 training for small businesses and members of Tabor 100.
The 25 students ranged in terms of experience, industry, and workforce levels in connection to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). All completed not just the OSHA 30 certification requirements but also the Foundations for Safety Leadership training and empowerment, that will not only affect their work environments, but also retain the company bottom-line.
It was a privilege to contribute to TABOR 100’s educational mission by delivering OSHA 30 and FSL training. As Tabor 100 is committed to economic strength, educational excellence, and social fairness for African Americans and the community at large, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration focuses on protecting minorities and vulnerable workers.
Over 5,000 workers are killed in the workplace each year (14 per day), and over 3.6 million are seriously injured or ill. A small business can be devastated by even one significant workplace injury or sickness, including higher workers’ compensation premiums, medical bills, legal fees, replacement worker training, lost productivity, equipment maintenance, and poor worker morale.
Prevent workplace injuries and illnesses – Improve compliance with laws and regulations – Reduce costs, including workers’ compensation premiums – Engage workers – Improve social responsibility – Boost productivity and business operations (DHHA (NIOSH) OSHA, 2023).
