Ellen has been a small business owner and an active member of her community since moving to the area over 38 years ago. Throughout her career as a social worker and beyond, Ms. Kerr has cultivated a strong interest and focus on serving the minority community, supporting social equity and inclusion.
Ms. Kerr holds a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Washington. After numerous jobs in the clinical field, she started and maintained a successful mental health practice for over 25 years. After retiring in 2010, amongst other endeavors, Ms. Kerr is actively involved with the philanthropic community at The Seattle Foundation, Washington Women’s Foundation, The Women’s Donor Network, and a past member of Social Venture Partners. As a licensed clinical social worker, Ellen provides consultation, supervision, and mentoring for mental health employees at Sound Mental Health, our region’s largest community mental health center.
